Getting Ready—Establishing Professional Contacts and Expanding Resources

Locating someone in another country is quite difficult, especially if you have not already established a relationship within an organization.  I was able to find an organization that is located in several cities within the United States, the National Association for the Education of Young Children; this organization has regional affiliates in Europe and the Midwest. I was not successful in contacting anyone from the governing board, due to the fact that their contact information was not listed.  I believe that it will be much easier and more efficient for me to carry out this assignment successfully by choosing the alternate assignment.  I decided to study the World Forum websites, I believe that it will be very interesting to listen to actual conversation with other early childhood professionals from around the world.  The website/organization I found most interesting was the Liberty Children's Home located near Belize.  The director Delfena Mitchell houses approximately 40 children that have been abandoned and or abused.  www.libertyfoundation.org.uk
